The Rugby Union European Challenge Cup is an international competition for teams from England, France, Wales, Ireland, Italy, Romania and sometimes Spain and Portugal. The tournament is the little brother of the Heineken Cup and is similar to footballs UEFA Cup. The competing teams are put forward by participating countries on the basis of their own self-determined qualifying procedures.
